A CASE REPORT ON EFFECT OF BALASHWAGANDA TAILA UTTARA BASTI IN THE MANAGEMENT OF ERRECTILE DYSFUNCTION INDUCED MALE INFERTILITY W.S.R. KLAIBYA VYADHI

Mini Case Report: Male infertility refers to a male’s inability to cause pregnancy in a fertile female. It can be related to a variety of congenital or acquired testicular and pre testicular causes, erectile dysfunction one among them. Erectile dysfunction (ED), also referred to as impotence, in males characterized by the persistent or recurring inability to achieve or maintain a penile erection with sufficient rigidity and duration for satisfactory sexual activity. Vajikarana Tantra (Aphrodisiac medicine/ Indian male sexual medicine) is one among eight branches of Ayurveda and the pride of Indian knowledge systems. The common cause which always prevents a man from enjoying sexual interplay with his female partner is called as “Klaibya” in Vajikarana tantra. Many effective treatment protocols like bahya and abhyanatara shaman chikitsa, shodhana types of panchakarama chikitsa, rasayana and vajikarana chikitsa are mentioned for Klaibya/ Erectile dysfunction in Ayurveda classics. A 36-year-old married male was approached to SDM Ayurveda Hospital, with the complaint of no issues even after his 3rdmarriage anniversary. Patient unable to initiate and maintain the erection during their sexual act. Was diagnosed with Erectile dysfunction by history, clinical examination and investigations. 24ml of Balashwaganda taila Uttarabasti was planned for 7days in every month for 3months of duration (during the safe period of the female partner in every month). With monthly follow up was done. During the 2rd month follow up subjective parameters like duration of erection was improved and able to attempt the act with improved ejaculatory duration was found. Objective parameters like quality of erection questionnaire International Index of Erection was also given good improvement. At 3rd month follow up his female partner’s UPT test result was found positive result.
Conclusion: In Ayurveda N numbers of treatment protocols mentioned for Klaibya/Erectile dysfunction under Vajikarana Tantra. Under that Balashwaganda taila uttarabasti was proven as, one of the best line of treatment modality for Erectile dysfunction induced Male infertility.
