Decrease in size of fibroid but polycystic ovaries were resolved

A case report of women aged 30 years with Chief complaint of painful and irregular menstruation since one and half years, k/c/o uterine fibroid since one year and mild degree polycystic ovaries since 4 months. The pain is so severe that it starts one week prior to menses and relieves on second day of menstruation. She had irregular periods with a gap of 50-60 days.

USG scanning revealed multiple uterine fibroids and mild degree polycystic ovaries. Hence, she was advised to admit for a course of Basti chikitsa. After taking her consent, lekhana basti was given in the form of yoga basti followed by gomutra hareetaki orally for a period of 3months. Patient found drastic reduction in her pain during menstruation and irregularity in menstruation also corrected. There was no significant decrease in size of fibroid but polycystic ovaries were resolved.
